Internships
At Timbuktu Media, we strongly believe in capacity building for our young professionals who are currently attending universities here in Nigeria and abroad. Capacity building equates to having a talented pool of individuals that can fill key roles at the Company in the future.
With this in mind, Timbuktu Media is initiating two internship programs to commence in the summer of 2009:
TM Digital Media Internship Programme The TM Digital Media Internship Programme will be targeted at 2nd and 3rd year Computer Engineering and Computer Science students who are interested in learning more about Digital Media, or are seeking a career in Digital Media. The Digital Media Group is headed by one of the best in the industry, Jeremy Weate, and his goal is to have students participate in key projects that may involve a convergence of Internet, mobile and other media platforms. Students who apply to this program are strongly encouraged to be conversant with the Internet, have some knowledge about emerging media trends and maintain a satisfactory GPA (3.0). Students from Obafemi Awolowo University, University of Ibadan and other institutions with strong IT programmes are encouraged to apply.
TM Journalism Internship Programme With the advent of online media, it is important that Timbuktu Media continues to publish fresh and inspiring stories from across the nation and continent. However, it is also important that journalistic integrity permeates our work and that our readers trust us and find us to be the credible source for information. This program is geared towards Mass Communication students who plan a career in journalism upon graduating from University. Students at the University of Lagos Mass Communications Department are encouraged to apply.
